Tulfarris Hotel Wedding - Lauren & Jordan's Wedding

Tulfarris Hotel

Tulfarris Hotel Wedding - Lauren & Jordan's Wedding. The wedding ceremony and reception took place in Tulfarris hotel, Blessington, Co. Wicklow, on a warm September afternoon.

Tulfarris Hotel is one of my favourite locations to photograph a wedding. Tulfarris is a venue that I call a 'not worried about the weather' venue, as it has beauty indoors and outdoors all over the property. And I am always delighted to return to this stunning location.

Tulfarris Civil Ceremony

I first met Lauren and Jordan for their engagement shoot, and I knew this was going to be a loved up, and fun wedding. Lauren is a fantastic make up artist, and works in the wedding industry herself, and it was an honour to be asked to photograph her wedding. She meets photographers all the time, so I am delighted she choose me.

Tulfarris Hotel Wedding - Lauren & Jordan's Wedding

Lauren had the beautiful rooms is the Manor House in Tulfarris for her preparation photographs, while Jordan was just a stones throw away in the hotel. This is a brilliant idea, as it allows me to photograph both the bride and grooms preparations. A short walk to the ceremony room in Tulfarris meant no cars were needed.

After a beautiful ceremony, we walked the grounds of the hotel for 15 minutes to capture some stunning photographs. When I entered the reception room, I was blown away by how stunning it was. Lauren had put her DIY craft skills to great use, and really changed how the room looked.

Thank you to Lauren & Jordan. A great couple.

Deirdre & Albert's Wedding

Kilronan Castle Wedding Gary Barrett Photography. Kilronan Castle is one of my top ten venues in Ireland to photograph a wedding. And if there is one piece of advice I can give couples getting married here, that is to get ready here on the morning of your wedding. The reason is that the rooms in Kilronan are second to none. They are simply stunning. And from a photographers point of view, they are amazing for photographs.Kilronan Castle Wedding Gary Barrett Photography 1

This is the wedding of Deirdre and Albert. Both got ready in Kilronan, and the results speak for themselves. Deirdre is a fantastic church singer from Achill in Co. Mayo, and Albert a fitness instructor from South Africa. So they decided they would get all the guests to travel to Kilronan Castle for the big day.Kilronan Castle Wedding Gary Barrett_0006

This was a brilliant wedding, one of many that I end up feeling like a guest rather than a photographer. But it helped that I knew lots of the guests, being from Mayo myself. Among the familiar faces was my good buddy Natalie O’Brien, Wedding hairstylist. It is always great to see Natalie at weddings, because not only does she do amazing work, she has everyone ready with loads of time to spare. Looking after the girls make up was Hayley McGowan. It is the first time I met Hayley,  and she is brilliant. Works fast and was great fun on the morning. The make up is perfect, and lasted all day, as you can see in the photos.Kilronan Castle Wedding Gary Barrett_0002Kilronan Castle Wedding Gary Barrett_0003

Achill Island Flowers looked after the flowers. The bouquets were a stunning spring collection of flowers. Balla Florists were on hand to make everything look perfect with the church decor. Always love to hear that Judi and the team are involved with weddings I do, as I know that the wedding will have the wow factor. Looking after the video on the day was Emma from Edithouse Video Productions. Emma is like a video ninja! She captures everything, and you never know she is there. One of the best in the business.Kilronan Castle Wedding Gary Barrett_0004Kilronan Castle Wedding Gary Barrett_0005

After dinner it was up to Playlist - Wedding band to get the crowd going, and that they did. That is the reason Playlist are on my recommended band list. Finally DJ Tommy Elliot finished off the night. I see Tommy at loads of weddings. He is hard to book, because he is so popular, so if you need a DJ, don’t leave it until it is to late to get him.

A big thank you to Deirdre & Albert for having me photograph their wedding. A truly great day.

Today I am sharing Lisa & Alan’s Wedding Photography, Salthill Hotel, by Gary Barrett.

I have wanted to share this Wedding Photography, Salthill Hotel, for a while, but knowing that it was going in to VIP magazine I held off until VIP had it on the bookshelves!Wedding Photography, Salthill HotelWedding Photography, Salthill Hotel

When I arrived at Lisa’s home I was greeted by my buddies Natalie O’Brien, Hair Stylist, and Caroline Coyne, Make Up artist. Two of my favourite wedding suppliers in the west, and the best hair and make up duos there is. Always great craic when these two are involved, and they had all the girls looking amazing, and ready on time as always.Gary Barrett Wedding Photography- Salthill Hotel_6Gary Barrett Wedding Photography- Salthill Hotel_5

After the fun of the house, I headed down to the beautiful Claddagh Church, in the heart of Galway. There I met Alan and the boys, and photographed the guests as they arrived to the church, and there was lots of familiar faces, which is always nice to see. Lisa arrived in style with U2R1 wedding cars, and after one quick photo we got her straight up the aisle to Alan.

Lisa was wearing a stunning dress by Aibheil of Adare bridalwear, and the bridesmaids looked gorgeous in the dresses by Wedding World, Galway. Martin Feeney Menswear made sure Alan and the lads wear looking dapper.

Wedding Photography, Salthill Hotel

For the photoshoot we crossed the road to Claddagh Pier, which took only 5 minutes, as it was a freezing November afternoon, and the bridesmaids were turning blue. But Lisa braved the elements to take a 5 minute stroll with Alan on the beach at Salthill, for some lovely November sunset photos.

When we arrived at the hotel Viva Manilla greeted us, and sang Lisa & Alan in the hotel to great cheers from their guests.

A special thank you to videographer Ana Conlon from videoproductions.ie. Always a pleasure to work with, and always creates stunning wedding videos. And thanks to Ciara at VIP Magazine for sharing this very special wedding.

Salthill Hotel Galway Wedding - Orla & Fred

Orla & Fred’s wedding took place on a sunny day in Galway. A very rare sunny day in 2015!
From the second I arrived at Orla’s house I knew it was going to be a great day, because the house was full to the brim with all her buddies getting their hair and make up done, in 3 separate rooms!

Orla’s hair was styled by my buddy Natalie O’Brien, one of the best wedding hairstylist’s in the west. And her gorgeous make up was expertly applied by Deborah Leonard. Orla’s dress was by The Suite - Bridalwear, Dublin.

I also visited the boys in Fred’s house, which was a little quieter! Fred did his own hair!

Claddagh Church was looking amazing, thanks to Louise from Seamus Florist Sundries. And the brilliant Ailbhe Hession created a lovely atmosphere with her singing and music.

After a very quick visit to Salthill beach, and park… because it was very windy, we headed for the Salthill Hotel. As always the service, and presentation at this venue was amazing.

Orla had some very original ideas in place. Two that stood out for me were the table numbers and seating arrangement table. The table numbers were photographs of each person that would be at that table, stuck to the number. And the Seating arrangements, was a gorgeous display of old wine bottles, and candles. The labels elegantly replaced with new ones, that displayed the names. Very original. And the fabulous cake was created by her Dad & sisters.

The reception area was buzzing with brilliant Manilla Strings. Getting everyone ready to rock for the evening ahead. And Frank & Sean from Duo Vocis made sure the were still rocking, and waving their napkins, during the meal.

After Dinner The Hitmen Trio took to the stage, and filled the dance floor for a great night.

Thank you to Orla & Fred for a truly fantastic day.
