Tulfarris Hotel Wedding - Lauren & Jordan's Wedding

Tulfarris Hotel

Tulfarris Hotel Wedding - Lauren & Jordan's Wedding. The wedding ceremony and reception took place in Tulfarris hotel, Blessington, Co. Wicklow, on a warm September afternoon.

Tulfarris Hotel is one of my favourite locations to photograph a wedding. Tulfarris is a venue that I call a 'not worried about the weather' venue, as it has beauty indoors and outdoors all over the property. And I am always delighted to return to this stunning location.

Tulfarris Civil Ceremony

I first met Lauren and Jordan for their engagement shoot, and I knew this was going to be a loved up, and fun wedding. Lauren is a fantastic make up artist, and works in the wedding industry herself, and it was an honour to be asked to photograph her wedding. She meets photographers all the time, so I am delighted she choose me.

Lauren had the beautiful rooms is the Manor House in Tulfarris for her preparation photographs, while Jordan was just a stones throw away in the hotel. This is a brilliant idea, as it allows me to photograph both the bride and grooms preparations. A short walk to the ceremony room in Tulfarris meant no cars were needed.

After a beautiful ceremony, we walked the grounds of the hotel for 15 minutes to capture some stunning photographs. When I entered the reception room, I was blown away by how stunning it was. Lauren had put her DIY craft skills to great use, and really changed how the room looked.

Thank you to Lauren & Jordan. A great couple.

Glenlo Abbey Wedding Photography - Sinead & Patrick

Glenlo Abbey Wedding Photography
Today I am sharing a beautiful Glenlo Abbey Wedding Photography post.

Glenlo Abbey Wedding Photography. This was a perfect wedding from start to finish. Perfect weather, amazing hotel, beautiful church, and a stunning couple. Also there on the day, was the dynamic duo, Caroline Coyne - Make Up & Natalie O'Brien - Hair Stylist. These two are quiet simply the best double act in the wedding industry. Always great craic when they are around, and always have the bridal party ready with loads of time to spare. But they had a very easy day on this wedding day!

Glenlo Abbey Wedding Photography

From the second I walked in the craic had already started and it was a very lively house. And because Sinead and Patrick were getting ready so close together, there was time to shoot down and photograph Patrick getting ready.

There was a big crowd of familiar faces when I arrived at the church, as I had photographed Sinead's cousins wedding in the past. So it was great to catch up with everyone. The church was the beautiful Renmore Barracks Church. One of my favourite churches in Galway. And because it was a sunny day, everyone was having a great time outside.

Sinead was brought to the church by Smyths Chauffeur Drive from Roscommon. Looking after the beautiful church music was Ingrid Madsen. And making sure the church and all of the flowers looked amazing was Daniela from The Art of Blooming Florist.

When we arrived at Glenlo Abbey Hotel the weather was perfect, so we went for a short wander around the grounds with the bridal party. This hotel is fast becoming one of my favourites in the west for wedding photography. Everytime I go there I seem to find somewhere new. It is truly a stunning location.

On the day I was working with the very talented Rory Walsh from Spire Productions, who was looking after the videography on the day. And the Cozy Cartel - Acoustic Band, made sure the party atmosphere continued while the band set up, keeping everyone party mode.

The band on the night were a favourite of mine, The Controversial All-Stars. They had the dance floor rocking within seconds of the first dance ending.

I want to thank Sinead & Patrick for including me at their very special wedding, and also for braving the nights cold air to get a night time photo. It was the perfect end to the perfect wedding. And a great way to show off Sinead's amazing two piece dress!

Castle Leslie Wedding photos

Castle Leslie Wedding Photographer - Jenny & Tim's Wedding

Castle Leslie Wedding Photographer

Today I am sharing the wedding photos at Castle Leslie, by Castle Leslie Wedding Photographer, Gary Barrett. This is Jenny & Tim’s wedding in Castle Leslie, Co. Monaghan, one of my favourite locations in Ireland, and one of the best hotels in the world.
If it’s good enough for a Beatles wedding, then it is good enough for wedding singer, Jenny McCabe’s wedding.

Castle Leslie Wedding Photographer

Jenny is one of Ireland’s best wedding singers, so when I was asked by her to photograph her wedding I was both honoured and nervous! Honoured,as she has worked with hundreds of wedding suppliers, and nervous, to be chosen over all the photographers, to do a fellow professionals wedding.

Well there was no need to be nervous, because both Jenny & Tim were absolutely brilliant to work with. Along with their crazy bridal party, they made sure that this was one wedding I will never forget. And for some reason it was the first wedding that there was a catch phrase to! You’ve changed!! You had to be there!

Jenny and the gang got ready in one of Castle Leslie’s beautiful houses, not far from the hotel. And the ceremony was held a lovely church, just down the road, called St. Patricks of Corracrin. Looking after Jenny and the girls on the morning was Make Up artist, Lynn McKenna, from I Do Make Up, and hairstylist, Kim Naughton, from Cameo Hair, Glaslough, and they are an excellent pair. All the girls were ready on time, looking great, and had time for a sit down with some bubbly. Making sure the boys looked good, well that was up to themselves, and suits from Louis Copeland.

Jenny was brought to the church in style by Dixons wedding cars, and making sure all the flowers and Church looked amazing was Eileen at Sunflower Design.

The church music was by friends of Jenny and Tim accompanied by the Appassionata String Quartet, and it was beautiful.

Making sure all the magic moments were captured on film was Brendan Galvin - Wedding Videography. He was a pleasure to work with, and we had a great laugh on the day.

Wedding photos in Castle Leslie

When we arrived to do the wedding photos at Castle Leslie, a familiar face greeted us, and that was John Mathews, Manager at Castle Leslie. John used to work in another hotel I like, and it was great to see him here for the first time in his new role at Castle Leslie. John went above and beyond at this wedding. He never left our side and made sure Jenny and Tim were under an Umbrella in between photos. Even though looking at the photos you wouldn’t know it was raining. So I just wanted to mention John and say thank you for all his help on the day.

Castle Leslie Wedding Photographer

John also made sure that Jenny and Tim got there feet up on the cake table for a photograph, which is a Caste Leslie tradition.

Just before dinner Jenny and Tim surprised guests with a duet on the piano, as Jenny had been secretly teaching Tim a tune for the big day. And it went down a storm, and Tim’s very serious concentration face made for great photos!

Thank you once again to Jenny and Tim for a brilliant day. It was my absolute pleasure to be part of it. And to all the bridesmaids all I can say is….. you’ve changed!!!!

Darver Castle Wedding - Áine & Fran

Today I am sharing the beautiful wedding of Áine & Fran. This stunning wedding took place in Darver Castle in Co.Louth.

Áine got ready in her parents house in County Monaghan. When I arrived there Ailbhe Lynch - Make up artist, and Sinead McGoldrick - Hair Stylist, were looking after all the girls, and getting them ready in perfect time for the church, as they always does. The Church was next door to Darver Castle, so it was a very short spin to the hotel after the ceremony.

I absolutely love Darver Castle, and the grounds around it for a wedding. It is such a beautiful location, anytime of year.

I want to thank Áine and Fran for a brilliant day. One of my favourites of 2015.

I will let the photos do the talking from this point on!

The Rose of Tralee gets married - Roisin & Nicky - Galway Wedding

GaryBarrettPhoto-blog_0859
Roisin & Nicky are married!! Today I am sharing the wedding of Roisin & Nicky. They were married recently in the Cathedral in Galway.

Roisin is a past winner of the Rose of Tralee. She represented New York in 2000 and won the famous crown. But 15 years later she had won the heart of a Galway boy called Nicky. The ceremony was held in Galway Cathedral, and the reception was in the lovely Clayton Hotel.

RTE were there to film it for a series called "A week before my wedding", and so was the brilliant Ana Conlon from VideoProductions.ie. I have worked with Ana on many occasions and it is always a pleasure to work with her. Between myself and Leon, Ana, and RTE, every angle was covered!!

Roisin, and her bridesmaids, were getting ready is a beautiful room in the Clayton Hotel. When I arrived she was being pampered and beautified by the brilliant Cathal Walshe - Hair Stylist, and the amazing Hayley Coleman - Make up Artist. So they were all well liked after. After a few photos there I popped over to Nicky, who was with his groomsmen and a team from RTE in his own house. When the interviews were over I had a couple of minutes to get Nicky into his suit before I zoomed back to Roisin in the hotel.

We met up with the boys again at the Cathedral, and we were quickly followed by the girls. It was a fantastic ceremony, with music performed by different guests, and Roisin even played a beautiful piece on the violin. Roisin & Nicky were also joined by seven past winners of the Rose of Tralee.

We then headed to the Galway Town Hall for some photos, as both Roisin & Nicky have performed on stage there in the past. So it was something a little special for them.

Back at the hotel, the crowd were a lively bunch. A group of the guys serenaded the bride and groom after dinner, and Roisin & Nicky, along with a bunch of mates, treated the crowd to a dance routine, that wouldn't be out of place in a Fred Astaire Movie.

I would personally like to thank Roisin & Nicky for a fantastic day. Thank you so much for having me.
